She may have been gone since 1984, but her songs, her story, and her larger-than-life personality are back in Call Me Miss Birds Eye: A Celebration of Ethel Merman which makes its North American Premiere July 8 through July 19 at San Francisco's A.C.T.
The revue stars Denise Wharmby as the belting Broadway baby, and features more than 30 songs from the Merman repertoire. Written by Jack Tinker and directed by Frank McCarty, the show tells the story of how Merman ascended from humble beginnings to Broadway royalty.
